Alfred is operated by Alfred AI Lda. In this document "we", "us" and "Alfred" mean that company, and "you" means the person or business subscribing to the service.
By subscribing to a plan or using the service, you accept these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are authorised to bind it.
2. What Alfred does
Alfred is a marketing service that uses artificial intelligence, supervised by human specialists, to plan and produce marketing work for your business. Depending on the plan you choose, that can include paid advertising campaigns, SEO, written copy, images and other creatives, presentations, social media content and blog articles.
We describe what each plan includes on our pricing page. Volumes stated there, such as a number of assets per month, are the limits of that plan. Where a plan describes something as unlimited, that is subject to fair use: it means we do not cap it in advance, not that we will absorb any volume whatsoever.
We do not guarantee any particular commercial result. Figures shown on our website, including returns on ad spend, rankings or growth, are illustrative or drawn from past work. They are not a promise of what your business will achieve. Advertising and search results depend on your market, your offer, your budget and the behaviour of third-party platforms, none of which we control.
3. Your account and your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- the accuracy of the information you give us, including billing details;
- keeping your access credentials secure;
- the accuracy and legality of the material you ask us to promote, including any claim made about your products or services;
- holding the rights to any brand, image, text or other material you provide to us;
- your own compliance with the rules of the advertising platforms you use.
You agree to review the work we present for approval within a reasonable time. Where a plan requires your approval before publication, delays on your side will delay delivery.
4. Access to your advertising and social accounts
To do the work, we normally need access to accounts that belong to you: advertising accounts, analytics, social profiles, your website or its content management system. You grant us that access, and you may withdraw it at any time.
We use that access only to deliver the service you subscribed to. Withdrawing access before the end of a paid period does not entitle you to a refund of that period, because the subscription remains active and we can no longer perform the work through no fault of ours.
Accounts we create for you as part of onboarding remain yours. On request, we hand over administrative control of them.
5. Plans, prices and billing
Our plans are charged as a fixed subscription fee, monthly or annually, at the prices shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. The annual plan is discounted and is charged once for the whole period.
Paddle.com Market Limited is the merchant of record for every purchase. That means Paddle, not Alfred, is the seller for the transaction: it takes the payment, issues the invoice, and calculates and remits any sales tax, VAT or equivalent consumption tax due in your country. Paddle's own terms apply to the payment itself, and the charge on your statement will show Paddle. We never see or store your card details.
We bill in US dollars, euros, Brazilian reais, Indian rupees, Japanese yen and Korean won. Prices displayed in Philippine pesos, Thai baht and Vietnamese dong are shown for reference only, and those subscriptions are charged in US dollars; the checkout says so before you pay. If your card is issued in a different currency from the one charged, your bank may apply its own conversion and fees, which are outside our control.
We may change our prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before it applies to your renewal.
6. Your advertising budget is not included
The subscription fee pays for our work. It does not include the money spent on advertising itself. You pay your media budget directly to Google, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and any other platform, under your own account and your own billing relationship with them.
Our fee is never a percentage of that budget. We have no financial interest in you spending more, and we do not receive commission from the platforms.
7. The 14-day guarantee and refunds
If within the first fourteen days of your first subscription you decide Alfred is not for you, we refund what you paid for that period in full. Write to help@usealfred.ai within those fourteen days.
Because Paddle is the merchant of record, refunds are processed by Paddle and return to the payment method you used. Outside the guarantee window, payments are non-refundable except where the law where you live says otherwise, or where we have failed to provide the service.
8. Renewal and cancellation
There is no lock-in contract. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You may cancel at any time, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep the service until then.
We may suspend or end the service if you breach these terms, if payment fails and is not resolved, or if continuing would expose us to legal risk. Where we end the service without cause on your part, we refund the unused part of the period.
9. Acceptable use
You may not use Alfred to produce or promote:
- anything unlawful where it is published, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
- claims you know to be false or misleading, including about health, income or results;
- material that harasses, defames or discriminates;
- content that breaks the published rules of the advertising platform it runs on.
We may refuse or withdraw work that falls into these categories, and we may end the subscription if it continues.
10. Ownership of what we produce
Material we produce for you as part of the service — copy, images, campaigns, articles, presentations — belongs to you once the period in which it was produced has been paid for. You may use, adapt and keep it, including after the subscription ends.
What we do not transfer is the Alfred platform itself: our software, prompts, models, workflows and know-how remain ours. You keep every right you already had in your brand and in anything you gave us.
We may refer to your business as a client and show the work publicly, unless you tell us not to. A request not to is enough; you do not need to give a reason.
11. AI-generated work and its limits
A large part of the work is produced by artificial intelligence. That has consequences you should understand before subscribing:
- AI can produce text that reads confidently and is factually wrong. Every claim about your business, your products, prices, availability or legal obligations is yours to verify before publication.
- AI-generated images and text may resemble other material. We take care to avoid it, but we cannot guarantee that any output is wholly original or free of third-party rights.
- Some jurisdictions and some platforms require AI-generated content to be disclosed. Meeting that requirement in your market is your responsibility, and we will help where we can.
Our specialists review work for quality, tone and brand fit before it goes out. That review is not a legal, medical, financial or regulatory review of your claims.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or indirect losses, nor for the acts of the advertising platforms, nor for money you spent on media.
If you are a consumer rather than a business, your statutory rights are unaffected by this clause.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell you before it takes effect and you may cancel if you do not accept it. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Portugal, and the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction, without depriving you of the protection of any mandatory law of the country where you live. Where you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the consumer protection rules of your own country continue to apply.
15. Contact
Write to help@usealfred.ai with any question about these terms. For anything about the payment itself, the invoice or a refund, Paddle is the merchant of record and can also be contacted directly.
